There's a Worm in My Apple by James Stevenson

There's a worm in my apple,
a bug in my pear,
a beetle has managed
to get in my hair,
I swatted the gnat
that was nipping my ear,
and a hornet is buzzing
uncomfortably near.

The ants in the kitchen
are stealing the bread,
while a mouse sets up housekeeping
under my bed,
wherever I look
I encounter a moth,
and a fly just dexided
to dive in the broth.

There's a spider outside
that would like to move in,
a pair of mosquitoes
are riddling my chin,
the rat in the attic's
determinded to stay,
I'm facing a farily
pestiferous day.

This poem sounded very funny to me and it makes me feel grouse because I could imagine yucky insects all over the place, everywhere this person goes. I think this poem is about insects are living in this person’s house which makes this person terrify. It also can be some kind of villa besides the mountain instead of a house. The certain thing is that this person hates insects because of the last sentence. I think author wrote this poem, maybe because it’s part of his memory that he has been experienced. It made me to realize my experience. At the dinner time, my mom cooked spinach soup which was one of my favorite soap. However I didn’t know there was a bug inside of my soup because spinach was green that covered a bug. Also, bug was hiding under the spinach. When I ate spinach soup I suddenly saw it. Something greenish chubby thing that didn’t looked like spinach. That was my last day eating spinach soup. Anyway this experience came to my mind. I like this poem because how author is expressing the sight of the different kind of situations of the insects is very creative.

The poem is really funny but gross.I like how the poet tried to make the poem in such a way that if a person reads this poem he could imagine how it would feel with all those insects and stuff. I like the way the poet described the poem in such a creative way. A very interesting poem:)
